i heard that it was suppose to poke fun of modern pop songs that have meaningless lyrics, and that it was supposed to shift the perspective people had about the band because they have been seen as gloomy and sad and they didnt want that. so yeah its just a silly song and rob barely tried but its still so good.

i love the 13th,he looks so sexy with the smeared makeup and torn clothes. lovecats i love to,i heard they were pretty drunk in the making of it and you can tell, the way rob moves around like an old cartoon is so cute and i love the part where he plays with the kitten and it tries to bite him and he flinches <3 lullaby as well one of the first cure songs ive ever listened too, i love the part where the camera zooms into his teeth and show his tongue and stuff. charlotte sometimes, they all look so sexy and i love the way they appear everywhere 'charlotte' goes especially in the running part. hot hot hot is good aswell, haha they look so tiny and the way rob moves around is like in the lovecats videos. mint car is so poppy and i like his silly face expressions and the train part

Quote from: tanyasmith on March 28, 2019, 02:52:30The Man Inside My Mouth is the first thing that comes to mind. It's also pretty abstract, as if to hide what's happening, but comes clean about its intent at the end:

"So I was ****, I was **** like a fat lady would
But I couldn't hold it down another second

"Don't twitch, don't shout, don't think, don't even breathe"
She said, "Or the photograph will spoil and cut you off at the head"
So I was sweating, I was sweating like a fat lady would
And I woke up with a man inside my mouth

This won't hurt at all"

I think many of their songs are climactic and though they may not have one sexual lyric, it reminds me of climax and "afterglow." Out of This World is like that, so atmospheric. Also To Wish Impossible Things. I'm pretty sure The Cure didn't intend to write sexuality into some of their more subtly sexual songs, just happened intuitively.

There's differing said things said about Lullaby, but the closest to truth I could find is that it has to do with a child being molested. Tim Pope wrote that off, said that Robert was doing too many hallucinogenics or something, but my impression is that Robert's uncle used to molest him. Of course I don't believe that 100%, just pictures put together from things I've read.

I mentioned Letter to Elise on Twitter, about how he wished he could get inside of her, but never would.

I think one of the more subtle sexual songs is Lovecats. "Into the sea, you and me all the years that no one heard." (I used to hear "into the sea" as "intimacy)."

One of the obvious sexual songs, catch: "And I remember it used to feel soft at the time, but I always used to wake up sore."

The Cure is definitely a sexual band in my opinion, but again I think it's more subtle and tasteful than blatant.
i know this is off topic but something i want to take off my mind. one of the songs pornography siamese twins i heard about in a youtube video that theres some theory that its about molestation or some type of forced upon act that he had to do and he is traumatized from it. ive never heard about robert smiths uncle molesting him but ive only ever heard that one specific song is about it. poor robert :(

i really love this song too. it reminds me of one of my personal friends. no she did not pass away but sadly we never got to see eachother in real life again.we keep in touch by text and call and we are like two dancing flames but the last time i ever saw her in person we were balling and weeping because we knew we were never gonna see eachother again.i love her so much and i miss her so deeply, maybe one day i can hear her laugh again in person.

German guest workers in Switzerland | ZDF.reportage

I wouldn't have chosen the word guest workers because they did important development work in Germany after the war, supported their families far away and ultimately, although not all of them, returned to their homeland. This is no longer the case today, when young, motivated Germans in particular are forced to take on multiple jobs. Although the European idea lives in regions where three countries meet, anyone who wants to work at the WHO in Geneva, to give just another example, must have their main residence in Switzerland. So I can understand some of the Swiss' dissatisfaction.

QuoteThe guest workers, especially Italians, lead a life apart from the local population. The foreign worker is only tolerated as a worker; the following applies to him: "As long as he is there, he has to work; if he doesn't work, he no longer has to be there either". ["Friday Magazine" from February 17, 1961]
